How to organise weddings and other family occasions safely?

It is important to follow the restrictions and rules in force in the country at the time when organising weddings, funerals and other important family events.

• Keep the circle of family and friends as tight as possible and organise the whole event reasonably.
• If possible, organise the wedding ceremony in nature. The reception could also take place outside or in a party tent.
• Apply the principle of dispersing the people, i.e. the 2+2 principle, to reduce the infection risk.
• In organised entertainment, avoid contacts between strangers (e.g. in games, dancing) as much as possible.
• If possible, do not bring smaller children along: it is difficult for them to keep a distance while playing, they tend to touch everything and put their hands in their mouths.

What should be considered when organising a funeral?

• Both burial and cremation are allowed when organising a funeral. Cremation is preferable from an infection risk perspective but it is certainly not obligatory and depends on the wishes of the close ones.
• An open casket funeral is allowed on the condition that the mourners do not come in contact with the deceased.
• At the funeral ceremony it would be sensible to include a minimal amount of people, in order to reduce the infection risk. Additionally, indoor gatherings should be avoided and it is preferable to organise the funeral ceremony directly at the graveyard.
